OSSO Foundation
About us
We research, develop and apply science and technology with a social focus to understand and reduce disaster risk.
The OSSO Foundation is a non-profit organisation registered in Bogotá, D.C., headquartered in Cali and working nationally and internationally.
With an unbroken track record since 1987, the organisation works as a multidisciplinary team that researches, applies and shares knowledge on natural hazards, vulnerability, risk management and disasters, bringing together methods from the Earth sciences, the social sciences and humanities, and advanced technologies.
Our history
- 1987 — Research group. We began as the research group South-Western Seismological Observatory (OSSO) at Universidad del Valle.

- Today — OSSO Foundation. We continue as the OSSO Foundation for Risk Management.
How we work

- Social sciences and humanities: vulnerability, territory, communities and institutions.
- Advanced technologies: disaster databases, geographic information systems, monitoring and modelling.
